Job Details

Administers nursing care to patients according to principles of nursing practice, physician's orders, and Hospital policy. The Chemotherapy nurse administers chemotherapy agents to patients according to policy. RN is responsible for outpatient infusions services to include but not limited to chemotherapy, blood adminstration, injections, home infusion pumps, fluid management, etc. Must be proficient in IV insertions for adults only, PICC line and Port-a-Cath management, Phlebotomy, blood transfusions, performing nursing H&P/assessment, communication with ordering physicians and staff, etc. Responsible for patient teaching such as injections and all aspects of IV infusion therapy and disease processes. Also tasked with providing follow-up care after patients have received infusion therapy.

Scotland Cancer Treatment Center is a Duke Health Affiliate with Commission on Cancer accreditation with commendation.

Qualifications include:

Required: Current NC or Multistate RN license; current BLS ; 1-2 years RN experience

Preferred: Oncology Certified Nurse, 1-2 years Oncology Experience and holds a chemotherapy/bio-therapy card.

Monday -Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm with the expectation of providing inpatient administration as needed.
