This position has access to and knowledge of extremely sensitive, private and confidential materials. Ability to maintain the highest standard is required with zero tolerance. All the primary duties within this document will be performed according to established policies, procedures and guidelines within the department and the Medical Center. JOB SUMMARY: Works under the supervision of the Manager of Noninvasive Cardiac Services and lead Ultrasound tech. Performs Diagnostic Echocardiography Ultrasound procedures for ordered physician to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This position is responsible for the care of neonate (0-28 days), infant (1-12 months), children (1-12 years), adolescent (13-17 years), adult (18-72 years) and geriatric (72+ years) patients. Performs all other duties as needed. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: 1. Performs all diagnostic Echocardiography Ultrasound procedures per standard protocols under the supervision of a Cardiologist for neonatal through geriatric patients. 2. Completes examinations by documenting all appropriate procedural related information. 3. Provides for patient's physical and emotional needs in a wide variety of circumstances. 4. Transports patient as needed for all sections of the Noninvasive Cardiac Services Department. 5. Provides all customers with information pertinent to their exams. 6. Performs/documents QA and QC per section protocol. 7. Performs all duties necessary to ensure the harmonious operation of the Echocardiography Ultrasound section. 8. Effectively demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of the medical center on a daily basis. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Education: Work requires knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a one/two year Echocardiography Ultrasound program. 2. Licensure / Certifications: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. 3. Experience: One to two years preferred.
