This position has access to and knowledge of extremely sensitive, private and confidential materials. Ability to maintain the highest standard is required with zero tolerance. All the primary duties within this document will be performed according to established policies, procedures and guidelines within the department and the Medical Center. JOB SUMMARY: Works under the general direction of the Medical Records Lead, this employee is responsible locating, logging, retrieving and delivering medical records as assigned. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: Pull, for scheduled appointments in advance. Enter chart location in Fastracker. As files are returned deliver, transport, sort and enter files into Fastracker Continually check for misfiled charts and re-files according to filing system. Maintain orderly files File medical reports according to established order Pull and file x-ray jackets Make up new patient charts, repair damaged charts, and assist in locating and filing records Work with clinical and non-clinical employees to route charts to proper location(s) Answer telephone, take messages, and give information in accordance with established procedures Follow medical records policies and procedures Duplicated documents and forms as required Attend required meetings May be responsible for doing the courier run to the various offices of this practice and accessing charts stored outside of the practice Demonstrates standard of performance (ownership, teamwork communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence Performs other duties as assigned ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent 2. Licensure / Certifications: NC driver's License 3. Experience: Some experience in medical records is preferred but not required
