This position reports to the Manager, Work Management Maintenance Transmission and is responsible for working with Transmission Asset Management, Equipment Strategy and Tech Support, Construction Work Management, Maintenance Work Management, and Construction Maintenance Vegetation personnel to support and monitor the work plan for capital and O&M projects and supports the organization through detailed analysis and/or data integration.

This position is responsible for the support of the annual work plan and long range work plan forecast, which represents for Carolinas East. This position is accountable for supporting a work plan to optimize the effectiveness of craft workers in all jurisdictions, external and internal. In addition, he/she continually adjusts these plans to align with budget requirements, while completing the highest priority work.

This position supports an organization that collaborates with key stakeholders at all levels, including supervisors and management within the Transmission organization across assigned jurisdictions to achieve Transmission strategies, goals, objectives and change integration initiatives.

This position maintains a safe and productive work environment by contributing to a positive work environment where fellow employees work safely and efficiently. Adopts and models the safety guiding principles. Maintains productivity and focus, keeping management well informed of project deliverables and emerging issues / opportunities as required. Supports a consulting culture, mindset, and results-oriented environment within Transmission that drives teamwork.

This position creates dashboard reports and metrics relating to Transmission Work Management and Transmission CMV initiatives. This includes a Corrective Maintenance dashboard, NERC Late Date report, Capital/O&M projection trends, HP Event metric, OSHA Fan report and others as needed.


+ Supporting and coordination of the annual work plan and budget for assigned locations and monitor activities that will support adherence to the organizational financial goals

+ Accountable for operational and functional results by ensuring ethical compliance with company policies and procedures

+ Accountable for identifying, quantifying, analyzing and documenting work plans and budget variances and provide operational recommendations where appropriate

+ Accountable for reviewing financial reports on a monthly basis to ensure correct charging and cost effectiveness

+ Accountable to conduct studies, prepare analysis of trends associated with the business function and assist in the development of business strategies / performance measures

+ Engages and communicates effectively with fellow employees and key stakeholders in identifying opportunities that positively impact company financials by leveraging resources, processes and technologies

+ Provides support for key stakeholders objectives (safety, customer satisfaction, reliability, financial stewardship and employee satisfaction) from both a personal and departmental standpoint

+ Participates in a peer organization as needed with other departments to ensure consistency in processes and reporting, and sharing of best practices throughout the organization

+ Provides end user support for data management, data inquiries and data retrieval to meet jurisdictional needs and supply appropriate levels of management with information necessary to develop proposals, recommendations and resolutions

+ Provides support and guidance in order to drive improved performance through clearly communicated business plans, performance indicators, management models, governance, metrics and measures

+ Partners with and supports Business Process Improvement on KPIs and governance related to Transmission measures.

+ Identifies best practices or process improvement opportunities

+ Provides subject matter expertise from both an individual and team perspective to Transmission and Business Process Improvement

+ Supports corporate business continuity and storm response for Transmission as needed

+ Supports compliance initiatives as needed

Basic/Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 5-7 years related experience OR 7-9 years related experience

Desired Qualifications

+ Graduate degree (ex. Masters of Science or equivalent, MBA)

+ Demonstrated advanced analytical skills with modeling and forecasting (Statistics: Power BI, Power Pivot, and Toad for SQL Server etc.)

+ Demonstrated experience with metrics, business planning, risk analysis, cost management, and workflow analysis

+ Demonstrated collaboration skills

+ Demonstrated presentation skills in presenting to all levels within an organization

+ Demonstrated strategic thinking skills

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills

+ Ability to meet stated deadlines and respond quickly to changing needs through a teamwork approach

+ Broad knowledge of Duke Energy and its business units / operations

+ Self-motivated; able to work independently in a remote environment

+ Ability to effectively interact at various levels within the Company

+ Ability to perform complex team functions and/or lead independent matrixed work teams to achieve business goals

+ Knowledge of jurisdictional rules and regulations, especially as related to the Work Management, Maintenance and Construction Process and Contract Management
