Position Description


Operate large loaders, material handlers, and/or excavators to load 60 ton trucks with scrap material from designated piles in the scrap yard. Unloads railcars and barges as needed. Performs pile maintenance and interacts with the customer to ensure that the piles are adequately placed on the map


Position Requirements





Operates Excavator/grapple machine, Excavator/ Material Handler magnet machines.


May be required to drive trucks as needed


Inspects assigned equipment for any deficiencies prior to starting operations.


Utilizes dual verification procedures to ensure the correct material is loaded onto trucks.


Communicates with other operators, truck drivers, and the customer to ensure that the piles are maintained properly and noted on the map.


Completes paperwork to standard, and ensures all movements are listed.


May be assigned to unload barges.


Participates in morning safety meetings and gives suggestions to supervision on improvement measures.


Operates in a safe manner and asks questions when unsure of a task.


Requires work in all weather conditions.


Must be available to work all shifts and weekends,
